Out of the northern plains of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, emerges Dyrewolf; an original rockin' metal band. Dyrewolf began in the early 2010s with former Evil Survives guitarist Sean Oko. Sean brought his former bandmate Derrick Kroll on drums (ex-Evil Survives, Alphakill, Votov), along with different guitarists of varying commitment. Justin Stear (Alphakill, ex-Wreck-Defy) got wind of these shenanigans and decided to play bass without much of an argument. After writing on and off for a time, Justin soon switched to guitar, as that position was often left vacant. By 2016, the band had yet to find a committed bassist. With a collection of songs that were nearly completely written, it was becoming increasingly frustrating to not have a full band with which to perform. Derrick then stumbled upon one Jordan Gosselin noodling around on bass at a local music store. Impressed as he was, Derrick imposed upon Jordan to ply his trade with Dyrewolf. Jordan was happy to oblige and thus solidify the instrumental section of the band. This began the search for a singer. It became increasingly evident that this was not a common commodity geographically or logistically. Finally, after approximately a year of failure, Jordan suggested his friend Kyle Freeman try out. Kyle had previously dabbled with performing and recording along with Jordan, but was not actively seeking gigs. It didn't take long for Kyle to make his mark and impress. Dyrewolf played it's inaugural gig in October of 2017; the first fruit of Dyrewolf's labours. 2018 was spent almost entirely on the recording and production of the self-titled debut album, which was released on December 1/2018.
